Op de CD staan 15 dance hall nummers waarin de steek gitaar van Big E vol tot zijn recht komt. De CD opent met het door hem zelf geschreven ‘Honky Tonk Hearts’ gevolgd door ‘Kiss The Children’ van Gram Parkins. Dan volgen 2 Willie Nelson songs: ‘To Make A Long Story Short’ en ‘I Just Can’t Let You Say Goodbye’.

Op de CD staat ook een Cajun-achtig nummer ‘Little Jack Daniel’ van Little Jimmy DIckens en een puur country duet met Johnny Bush: ‘Nashville Is Rough On The Living’ van Shel Silverstein.Het tweede duet met Johnny is een door Johnny zelf geschreven juweel van een dance hall nummer: ‘Death Row’. Hermann zingt ook drie duets met Sandra Caroll: ‘Magic in a Song’, Fiddlin’ Man’ en ‘Putting Tears To A Tune’.

Behalve Hermann op de steel gitaar (en vocals) horen we ook Dave Biller op lead gitaar, Bobby Forbes op fiddle en Randy Reinhard op piano. Jim Loessberg speelt drums en Jake Hooker bas.

 Europe's king of Texas dance hall music has traveled to San Antonio, Texas and again recorded another wonderful CD. This one, of mostly Texas dance hall music and country sounds, is a sure winner. The CD is comprised of 15 tunes with the incredible steel guitar of the big E, the great Buddy Emmons featured right up front on all of them. The album opens up with a super Texas dance hall sound, penned by Hermann, called Honky Tonk Hearts and then goes on to another Texas dance hall sound, Gram Parsons' Kiss the Children. Then there are two penned by the legendary Willie Nelson's To Make a Long Story Short and I Just Can’t Let You Say Goodbye. Also included is Little Jimmy Dickens’ Cajun styled composition Little Jack Daniel and Shel Silverstein’s country styled Nashville is Rough on the Living, a duet with the great Johnny Bush.
Another duet with Johnny is Johnny’s own Texas dance hall gem, Death Row. Other songs penned by Hermann are the Texas dance hall oriented Home of the Damned, a real pretty duet with Sandra Caroll, titled, Magic in a Song and a swinging Fiddlin’ Man. Hermann also penned the country Too Old for Nothing, and a tribute song to Lefty Frizzell sung along with George Chambers, She Loves Lefty. Other Texas dance hall sounds are Runnin’ Back to You ( Original by the New Riders Of The Purple Sage) and another duet with Sandra, Puttin’ Tears to a Tune. Another duet with Sandra is the swinging blues sound of Catherine Britt`s Nashville Blues. Besides Hermann's vocals and guitar and Buddy's steel licks you can enjoy Dave Biller playing lead guitar, the great Bobby Flores playing fiddle and Randy Reinhard playing piano.
The drums are played by Jim Loessberg while the bass player heard is Jake Hooker. Also heard is Rolf Sieker playing banjo, George Chambers- acoustic guitar and Bill Green- guitar. Seit über 30 Jahren der traditionellen Countrymusic verschrieben hat sich derAschendorfer Hermann Lammers Meyer. Hermann "the German" gehört zu den 5 meistgespielten Country-Sängern in den europäischen Country-Radio-Charts. Regelmäßig nimmt er mit Showgrößen aus der amerikanischen Countryszene Duette auf, hier z.B. mit Johnny Bush, Sandra Caroll und George Chambers. Er spielte bereits mit (fast) allen Showgrößen in Deutschland und hatte sogar einige Auftritte im prominenten ARD Musikantenstadl.

Während der Studio-Aufnahmen zu seinem neuen Album tourte Hermann Lammers Meyer wieder durch die Vereinigten Staaten, um seine mittlerweile legendären Duette einzuspielen. So war Hermann auch zu Gast bei Johnny Bush in der legendären Rodeoarena "Astrodome" in Houston, und mehr als 1 5.ooo Countryfans in Texas jubelten Aschendorfer zu. "Das war natürlich der Höhepunkt meiner diesjährigenTour, als mich Johnny Bush, der 'King of Texas Dancehallmusic' als Special Guest in seine Konzerttournee aufnahm", schwärmt er. Die Stimmung war mitreißend: "Hermann The German" - wie ihn seine amerikanischen Fans und Freunde liebevoll nennen - konnte viele der Fans mit seinem Klassiker, der plattdeutschen Version von "Fräulein", "Marie, oh Maria" sogar zum Mitsingen bewegen.

Im Gepäck zu dieser Reise hatte Lammers Meyer jedoch auch seine neuen Noten und Gesangstexte, die er in den vergangenen Monaten im ruhigen Aschendorf zu Papier gebracht hatte. Die 1 5 neuen Songs spielte er im BGM- Studio in San Antonio, Texas, für dieses Album ein, mit von der Partie waren u. a. Texas Fiddle Legende Bobby Flores, Piano King Randy Reinhard und - klar doch - Buddy Emmons an der Pedal Steel, der nicht nur in der Country Szene als König der Steel Guitar gilt, sondern auch bei den Paul McCartney` s Wings, Ray Charles, Mamas and Papas u.v.a. musizierte.

Das Duett " Nashville is rough on the living" mit Johnny Bush wurde vor langer Zeit von Shel Silverstein geschrieben, ist jedoch immer noch aktuell und prangert Geschäftspraktiken und Mißstände in der Music City, USA gnadenlos, aber humorvoll an... und wird für Gesprächstoff und Zustimmung in der Musikwelt sorgen...


"Home Of The Damned", ein von Hermann Lammers Meyer
selbst geschriebener Song, wurde mit einem Hauch 'Johnny Cash style' arrangiert. Der Song ist gespickt mit kleinen Geschichten und Andeutungen, die hinter die Kulissen der amerikanischen Gesellschaft schauen. Hier ist der Tatort ein verkommener kleiner Honky Tonk, weitab vom Broadway in einer fiktiven Stadt, gefüllt mit verlorenen Existenzen.

"Nashville Blues" wurde von der australischen Songschreiberin Catherine Britt geschrieben und aufgenommen für ihr Debutalbum bei RCA , mit Gaststar Elton John - und wurde aus musikpolitischen Gründen nie veröffentlicht. Dieses Lied wurde Hermann bei der Aufnahme-Session zugetragen und er war so begeistert, dass er sich spontan entschloss, das Lied für sich aufzunehmen. Herausgekommen ist ein rasanter Duettsong über einen jungen Musiker, der es "unbedingt" in Nashville schaffen möchte... Mit Sandra Caroll als Partnerin, grandiosen Fiddle-, Guitar- und Pedal Steel-Passagen, unterstützt durch ein furioses Banjospiel des deutschstämmigen Rolf Sieker, der seit Jahren in Round Rock, Texas als Profimusiker lebt.

"I first met Hermann Lammers Meyer about ten years ago (...) and I was impressed for two reasons, one of course being that he had chosen my song to record: secondly, because he had a style that was different. He did not try to sound like the new country acts of today. It was refreshing to hear a new talent with a singing style of his own. A few years later Hermann came to Spicewood, Texas to record an album at Willie Nelson` s Studio (...) Hermann also recorded a couple more ofmy songs on that session, and we became friends. Hermann was an extremely likeable young man with a great sence of humor, who posesses that rare ability to hear a hit song. In 1 997, Hermann invited me to come to Germany and play ten dates with him and his band.
